La Political Lamp est un nuage connecté, capable de réagir en temps réel aux messages postés sur Twitter, en créant un véritable orage lumineux chaque fois qu’un tweet est mis en ligne sur l’un des comptes qu’elle surveille. Chaque tweet se matérialise alors par une série d’éclairs, roulant dans le nuage et venant troubler la douce lumière de la lampe.
La Political Lamp est configurée pour suivre les tweets de Donald Trump, car il incarne parfaitement une époque dangereuse. Un monde où les mots d’un seul homme, lâchés sans réflexion et dans la spontanéité sur un réseau social global, peuvent mettre en danger le sort de millions de personnes en faisant planer le spectre de la guerre nucléaire sur la planète.
Comme dans le cas de la Earthquake Lamp, l’idée derrière la Political Lamp est de cacher sa véritable nature derrière un bel objet, qui modifie immédiatement le regard de l’observateur dès lors que son propos est révélé, en provoquant angoisse et fascination.
Une configuration alternative de la Political Lamp a également été pensée, permettant de faire réagir cette lampe nuage aux tweets des élus FN actuels, symbolisant en France la montée de l’intolérance.

The Political Lamp is a connected cloud, capable of reacting in real time to messages posted on Twitter, creating a thunderstorm every time a tweet is posted on one of the accounts it monitors. Each tweet is then materialized by a series of lightnings, rolling in the cloud and disturbing the soft light of the lamp.
The choice of setting the Political Lamp to follow the tweets of Donald Trump is explained by the fact that he perfectly embodies a dangerous era. A world where the words of one man, released without reflection and with spontaneity on a global social network, can endanger the fate of millions by spreading the ghost of nuclear war on the planet.
As in the case of the Earthquake Lamp, the idea of the Political Lamp is to hide its true nature behind a beautiful object, which immediately modifies the observer’s behavior when its purpose is revealed, causing anxiety and fascination.
An alternative setting of the Political Lamp was also conceived, allowing this cloud lamp to react to the tweets of the current elected from the FN (right-wing populist and nationalist political party in France), symbolizing the current rise of intolerance.
